I have insisted that I can in fact teach them to sing and still they respond, “You do not know my voice, I couldn’t carry a tune to save my life!”
FALSE! I have personally instructed many people who “couldn’t carry a tune” to sing wonderfully. In spite of all the people who had told them, they were tone deaf! Some have became fantastic singers even! You have to know how to access the involuntary muscles that control intensity, pitch and vowel (essential parts of your voice) When all this comes together, the instructor has the tools they need to separate, balance, blend and even repair the problematic singing instrument. This employs the principals that direct the correct physiological occupation of voice (not singing) now the repair and building process can begin. Even an individual who has sung on the choir for 30 years with very little improvement will see a big difference.
To experience a dramatic vocal change, the voice must undergo a rebuilding from its very foundation! The registers must be separated, balanced, and blended. The resonance must be adjusted and the vowel purified. It is a process.
